Schramm-Loewner Evolution

Schramm-Loewner evolution is a family of random planar curves obtained by using Brownian motion as the driving function in a Loewner evolution. In the chordal form in the upper half-plane from 0 to infinity, its conformal maps solve partial_tg_t(z)=2/(g_t(z)-sqrt(kappa)B_t) with g_0(z)=z, where B_t is standard one-dimensional Brownian motion and kappa>=0 is the parameter (Werner 2004).

The maps are defined until their points are swallowed by the growing hull. The associated trace is called SLE_kappa. A conformal mapping transports chordal SLE to a simply connected domain with two marked boundary points. This gives a mathematical model for scaling limits of interfaces in planar probability models.
