David-Semmes Problem

The David-Semmes problem asks whether L^2 boundedness of the Riesz transform forces uniform rectifiability of an Ahlfors-David regular measure. Specifically, for integers 1<=n<d and an n-dimensional such measure mu on R^d, the hypothesis is

 sup_(epsilon>0)||R_(mu,epsilon)||_(L^2(mu)->L^2(mu;R^d))<infty,

where epsilon is the hard truncation radius. This hypothesis is a uniform bound for individual truncations and does not assume a variation bound.
