Ahlfors-David Regular Measure

An Ahlfors-David regular measure of dimension n on R^d, for integers 1<=n<=d, is a Radon measure mu for which a constant C>=1 satisfies

 C^(-1)r^n<=mu(B(x,r))<=Cr^n

for every x in the support E of mu and every 0<r<=diamE. Here B(x,r) is the open ball of radius r, and diamE is the diameter of E. The definition is also abbreviated AD regularity.

For example, n-dimensional Hausdorff measure restricted to an n-dimensional affine space in R^d is Ahlfors-David regular. With the normalization that agrees with Lebesgue measure on R^n, its measure on each ball centered in that affine space is v_nr^n, where v_n is the volume of the unit ball in R^n (Mattila 2023, pp. 4-5). The two-sided growth condition is an assumption in the David-Semmes problem.
