The north-east oriented lattice is an oriented point lattice 
in which each edge points in
the direction of increasing coordinate value. It
is perhaps the most commonly studied oriented point lattice. This type of ordered lattice is central
in a number of fields, e.g., in oriented
percolation models within the field of discrete
percolation theory.
