Moment Sequence

A moment sequence is a sequence {mu_n}_(n=0)^infty represented by the moments of a measure mu on a subset D of the real line,

 mu_n=int_Dt^ndmu(t),

where the integrals exist for n=0, 1, .... In the moment problem, the measure is usually required to be a positive measure. The Hausdorff case takes D=[0,1] and writes dmu=dalpha for a nondecreasing function alpha of bounded variation.
