Kesten-McKay Distribution

The Kesten-McKay distribution is the limiting empirical adjacency-eigenvalue distribution of uniformly random regular graphs with fixed degree d>=3. In the unscaled adjacency convention its density is

 rho_d(t)=(dsqrt(4(d-1)-t^2))/(2pi(d^2-t^2))

for |t|<=2sqrt(d-1) and is zero outside this interval. It is also the spectral measure at a vertex of the infinite d-regular tree. For a finite d-regular graph on n vertices, the constant eigenvector has eigenvalue d and contributes mass 1/n to the empirical measure.
