Yau Nodal Set Conjecture

The Yau nodal set conjecture predicts two-sided bounds of order sqrt(lambda) for the nodal set of a nonzero real Laplace eigenfunction with eigenvalue lambda>0 on a fixed closed connected smooth Riemannian manifold. With L_g=-div_gdel _g, L_gu=lambdau, and n the manifold dimension, the bounds are

 c(M,g)sqrt(lambda)<=H^(n-1)(Z_u)<=C(M,g)sqrt(lambda).

Here H^(n-1) is Hausdorff measure, and both positive constants are independent of the eigenfunction and eigenvalue.
