Trigonometry Angles--Pi

TrigonometryAnglesPi

By the definition of the functions of trigonometry, the sine of pi is equal to the y-coordinate of the point with polar coordinates (r,theta)=(1,pi), giving sinpi=0. Similarly, cospi=-1, since it is the x-coordinate of this point. Filling out the other trigonometric functions then gives

cospi=-1
(1)
cotpi=infty
(2)
cscpi=infty
(3)
secpi=-1
(4)
sinpi=0
(5)
tanpi=0.
