Thick Tensor Ideal

A thick tensor ideal in a tensor triangulated category is a thick subcategory I such that X tensor Y belongs to I whenever X does and Y is any object of the ambient category. Tensor closure distinguishes it from an ordinary thick subcategory. The zero subcategory and the entire category are examples. For dualizable Morava K-theory local spectra, the tensor product is the localized smash product L_(K(n))(X ^ Y). The Hovey-Strickland conjecture concerns the thick tensor ideals in precisely that category.
