Reed-Muller Code

A binary Reed-Muller code RM(r,m) is the linear code formed by evaluating all multilinear polynomials of degree at most r over the finite field GF(2) at all points of GF(2)^m, where 0<=r<=m. Its codewords have length 2^m. In particular, RM(1,m) consists of the evaluation vectors of affine Boolean functions.

Wang et al. (2026) proved that the code covering radius of RM(1,9) is 242. This is the greatest Hamming distance from a nine-variable Boolean function to the nearest affine Boolean function.
