Milnor K-Theory

Milnor K-theory of a field F is the graded ring obtained from the tensor algebra of the multiplicative group F^× over Z by imposing the Steinberg relations a tensor (1-a)=0 for a!=0,1. Its degree-n group is denoted K_n^M(F), and an elementary tensor gives a symbol {a_1,...,a_n}. Thus K_0^M(F)=Z and K_1^M(F)=F^×. The symbols are additive in each multiplicative argument, and {a,1-a}=0 in degree 2.
