A Jordan domain is the bounded component of the complement in the plane of a Jordan curve, that is, a simple closed curve. Its boundary is that curve. The domain is open and simply connected, but its boundary need not be smooth.
A conformal mapping from the unit disk onto a Jordan domain extends to a homeomorphism of their closures. For chordal Schramm-Loewner evolution in the domain, two distinct boundary points mark the start and end of its random curve.
