Janson-Sós Conjecture

The Janson-Sós conjecture characterizes a quasirandom graph sequence by balanced subgraph counts. Fix a finite simple graph F with m vertices and e>1 edges, and fix 0<p<=1. For disjoint ordered vertex sets U_1,...,U_m in G_n, let N^~(F,G_n;U_1,...,U_m) be the average, over all labelings of F, of its injective copies with its ith labeled graph vertex in U_i. Copies need not be induced subgraphs.

The conjecture asserts that

 N^~(F,G_n;U_1,...,U_m)=p^eproduct_(i=1)^m|U_i|+o(v_n^m)

uniformly over all such choices with |U_i|=|_v_n/m_| implies that (G_n) is p-quasirandom, where v_n=|V(G_n)|->infty and |_x_| is the floor function. The classes may leave fewer than m vertices unused. Wang et al. (2026) proved this assertion, including when F has isolated vertices. The restriction e>1 is necessary, since the assertion fails for a single graph edge with possible isolated vertices when 0<p<1.
