Icosidodecahedron-Rhombic Triacontahedron Compound

IcosidodecaDualCompound

The polyhedron compound of the icosidodecahedron and its dual, the rhombic triacontahedron. The compound can be constructed from an icosidodecahedron of unit edge length by midpoint augmentation with heights

h_3=1/4sqrt(1/5(sqrt(7-3sqrt(5))))
(1)
h_5=1/4sqrt(1/5(5+2sqrt(5))).
(2)

The resulting solid has edge lengths

s_1=1/4sqrt(1/2(5-sqrt(5)))
(3)
s_2=1/2
(4)
s_3=1/4sqrt(5+2sqrt(5))
(5)
s_4=1/4(1+sqrt(5)),
(6)

circumradius

 R=1/4sqrt(5(5+2sqrt(5))),
(7)

surface area S given by the largest positive root of

 -612530859375+147622500000x+36267750000x^2-8164800000x^3-450360000x^4+82944000x^5-230400x^6-184320x^7+4096x^8=0

and volume

 V=5/(16)(27+10sqrt(5)).
