Hyperbolic Polynomial

A hyperbolic polynomial with respect to a vector e in R^m is a homogeneous polynomial p with real coefficients and positive total degree, such that p(e)!=0 and t|->p(te-x) has only real roots for every x in R^m (Netzer and Sanyal 2015). For example, p(x_1,x_2)=x_1x_2 is hyperbolic with respect to e=(1,1) because p(te-x)=(t-x_1)(t-x_2). The signs of these roots determine the associated hyperbolicity cone.
