A frequency table lists the distinct values or class intervals occurring in a data set together with their frequencies. Dividing each frequency by the sample size gives its relative frequency, and successive sums give cumulative frequencies. Grouping numerical observations into class intervals gives a grouped frequency table and discards the locations of observations within each interval.
