at the boundary of a line segment.
In analysis, an endpoint is one of the two points at the boundary of a closed interval or the single
point at the closed end of a half-closed interval.
In graph theory, an endpoint is a vertex of a graph that has vertex degree
1 (Harary 1994, p. 15).
