Almost Surely


Almost surely means with probability 1. More precisely, an event occurs almost surely if its probability is 1. Equivalently, the event can fail only on an exceptional event of probability zero. An almost-sure statement need not hold for every outcome; it may fail on a nonempty set whose probability is zero.

Almost surely is the probabilistic form of almost everywhere, with the underlying measure taken to be a probability measure.
