Tensor Trace

The tensor trace of a mixed tensor T of rank 2 is the scalar T_i^i obtained by tensor contraction.

The trace satisfies

Tr[M^(-1)(x)partial/(partialx^lambda)M(x)]=partial/(partialx^lambda)lndet[M(x)].

For a small change deltaM in a given tensor M, the trace can be computed approximately as
