Schwarzschild-Anti-de Sitter Metric

The Schwarzschild-anti-de Sitter metric is a static spherically symmetric metric tensor on a Lorentzian manifold solving the vacuum Einstein equation with negative cosmological constant. For cosmological constant -3 its four-dimensional line element is

 ds^2=-f(r)dt^2+f(r)^(-1)dr^2+r^2sigma,

where f(r)=1+r^2-2m/r and sigma is the unit round metric on S^2. For m>0, the unique positive zero r_+ of f bounds the static exterior and satisfies

 m=(r_++r_+^3)/2.

The constant-time spatial metric approaches hyperbolic space at infinity. This mass-radius relation is the model expression in the hyperbolic Penrose inequality.
