ICC Group

An ICC group is an infinite group in which every nonidentity conjugacy class is infinite. The abbreviation ICC stands for "infinite conjugacy classes."

For a countable discrete group , the group von Neumann algebra is a factor, meaning that its center consists only of scalar multiples of the identity, if and only if is ICC.
