The distillable secret key of a bipartite quantum state is the supremum of asymptotic rates of secret classical bits that two laboratories can extract from independent copies by allowed local quantum operations and public communication. The bits must agree at the two laboratories and become indistinguishable from a uniform key independent of an adversary's purification and the public record. A rate is measured in bits per input copy.
