Calabi Flow

The Calabi flow evolves a Kähler metric on a compact manifold by the deviation of its scalar curvature from its average. Writing its Kähler form as omega(t)=omega_0+ipartialpartial^_phi(t)>0, the potential satisfies

 partial_tphi=S(omega)-S^_,

where S is the complex trace of the Ricci curvature and S^_ its volume average. This specifies the scalar curvature normalization used here. A metric with constant S is stationary.
