Bott Periodicity

Bott periodicity is the periodic repetition of the stable homotopy types and homotopy groups associated with the classical groups. Complex Bott periodicity has period 2 and real Bott periodicity has period 8. The Bott periodicity theorem establishes these equivalences and makes the periodicity fundamental in topological K-theory.
