p-adic Section Conjecture

The p-adic section conjecture asserts that rational points on a smooth proper geometrically connected curve X of genus at least 2 over a finite extension k/Q_p correspond bijectively to continuous sections of its arithmetic étale fundamental-group sequence. If G_k is the absolute Galois group of k, the sequence is

 1->pi_1(X_(k^_))->pi_1(X)->G_k->1.

Sections are taken modulo conjugation by the full geometric etale fundamental group pi_1(X_(k^_)). A point determines a section through its induced map of fundamental groups, and geometric conjugation removes the dependence on the chosen path between base points.
