Subgame

A subgame is the part of a sequential game beginning at a particular decision point and containing every later decision that can follow it. When some earlier choices are unobserved, a subgame must not separate decision points that a player cannot distinguish.

A subgame-perfect equilibrium induces a Nash equilibrium in every subgame.
