Oka Manifold

An Oka manifold is a complex manifold with the convex approximation property in every complex source dimension. For every integer m>=1, nonempty compact convex set K subset C^m, open neighborhood U of K, holomorphic map f:U->X, and epsilon>0, there is a holomorphic map F:C^m->X with

 sup_(z in K)d_X(F(z),f(z))<epsilon.

Here d_X is any smooth Hermitian distance. The equivalent Stein-source formulation permits continuous maps to be deformed to holomorphic maps with approximation and interpolation.
