Nonexpansive Map

A nonexpansive map F:X->Y between metric spaces is a map satisfying d_Y(F(x),F(y))<=d_X(x,y) for all x,y in X. For normed spaces, this condition is ||F(x)-F(y)||<=||x-y||. It permits equality and therefore includes the identity map.
