Kiselman Monoid

A Kiselman monoid K_n is the monoid with generators a_1,...,a_n and defining relations a_i^2=a_i for 1<=i<=n and a_ia_ja_i=a_ja_ia_j=a_ja_i for 1<=i<j<=n (D'Andrea and Stella 2026). The generators are idempotent. For n=0, the monoid consists only of its identity element. The cardinalities for n=0, 1, ... are 1, 2, 5, 18, 115, 1710, 83973, 22263378, ... (OEIS A125625).

For the asymptotic growth of these cardinalities, D'Andrea and Stella (2026) proved that the even- and odd-index limits of 2^(-n/2)log_2|K_n| are distinct. More precisely, their constants satisfy

 c_(odd)<2.5062576<2.5062593<c_(even).

D'Andrea and Stella (2026) report using ChatGPT-assisted computations in discovering this separation.
