Kazhdan-Lusztig Polynomial

A Kazhdan-Lusztig polynomial P_(u,v)(q) is a polynomial associated with two elements u<=v in the Bruhat order of a Coxeter group. In the equal-parameter convention, these polynomials give the coefficients of the canonical basis of its Hecke algebra in the standard basis. They have integer coefficients, P_(u,u)(q)=1, and

 degP_(u,v)<(l(v)-l(u))/2

when u<v, where l is Coxeter length. For example, a Bruhat interval of length one has P_(u,v)(q)=1. The combinatorial invariance conjecture asks whether its abstract partially ordered set determines P_(u,v).
