Integral Basis

An integral basis of a number field K is a basis of its ring of integers as a free module over Z. Its length equals the extension field degree [K:Q]. For K=Q(sqrt(2)), the elements 1 and sqrt(2) give an integral basis (Milne 2020).

An integral basis of the number field Q(a) generated by an algebraic number a is computed in the Wolfram Language as NumberFieldIntegralBasis[a].
