Free Arrangement

A free arrangement is a central hyperplane arrangement whose module of logarithmic derivations is a free module. More explicitly, let K be a field, S=K[x_1,...,x_l] its polynomial ring, and Q=product_(H in A)alpha_H, where alpha_H is a linear functional defining H. The relevant module is

 D(A)={theta in Der_K(S):theta(Q) in QS}.

The arrangement is free iff D(A) is free as an S-module (Anghel and Stan 2026).

Terao's conjecture asks whether freeness is determined by the intersection lattice among hyperplane arrangements over the same field.
