Fomin-Kirillov Algebra

A Fomin-Kirillov algebra FK_n over a field of field characteristic zero is the associative algebra generated by x_(ij) for 1<=i<j<=n with quadratic relations

x_(ij)^2=0
(1)
x_(ij)x_(jk)=x_(jk)x_(ik)+x_(ik)x_(ij)
(2)
x_(jk)x_(ij)=x_(ik)x_(jk)+x_(ij)x_(ik)
(3)
x_(ij)x_(kl)=x_(kl)x_(ij),
(4)

where the middle two relations hold for i<j<k and the last for pairwise distinct i, j, k, and l with i<j and k<l.

The algebras are finite-dimensional for n=3, 4, and 5. Andruskiewitsch et al. (2026) proved that FK_n is infinite-dimensional for every n>=6. Andruskiewitsch et al. (2026) credit GPT-6 Astra with suggesting a proof strategy for the case n=6, which they partly adopted and partly developed within a more general argument.
