Dao-Zeeman Perspector

Dao-ZeemanPerspector

The Dao-Zeeman perspector of a line l with respect to a reference triangle ABC is the homothetic center of ABC and the congruent triangle constructed below (Lozada 2024).

Let l meet the sidelines BC, CA, and AB at distinct finite points A^', B^', and C^', respectively. Choose a point P on l distinct from those three points. Let A_P be the intersection of the line through B^' parallel to CP and the line through C^' parallel to BP. Define B_P and C_P by cyclic permutation (Dao Thanh Oai 2016). The lines through A_P, B_P, and C_P in the directions of BC, CA, and AB, respectively, bound the image of ABC under a 180 degrees rotation about the perspector. The perspector lies on l and is independent of P (Lozada 2024).

If l is the trilinear polar of the point with barycentric coordinates x:y:z, the perspector has barycentric coordinates

 x(y-z)(x-y-z):y(z-x)(y-z-x):z(x-y)(z-x-y).

For the Euler line, the construction gives the Gossard perspector X_(402) when the latter is defined (Lozada 2024).
