Canonical Bundle Formula

The canonical bundle formula expresses the adjoint divisor of a log-trivial fibration in terms of canonical, discriminant, and moduli data on its base. For a projective contraction f:Y->X of normal varieties, assume Delta is an effective rational divisor, (Y,Delta) is a log canonical pair over the generic point of X, and K_Y+Delta∼Qf^*L for a rational Cartier divisor L. Then the formula is

 L∼QK_X+B_X+M_X.

The coefficient of a prime divisor P in B_X is 1-t_P, where t_P is the log canonical threshold of the pullback of P over its generic point. The remaining rational divisor M_X is the moduli part (Han et al. 2022). Tracing these divisors on all birational models gives b-divisors. Semiampleness of the moduli b-divisor is the b-semiampleness conjecture.
