Bee Polyhex


Bee

The bee polyhex is the compact 4-polyhex in which five of the six pairs of constituent regular hexagons share an edge. It is one of the seven 4-polyhexes when shapes that differ only by translation, rotation, or reflection are identified (Gardner 1978, p. 147). Its cell-adjacency graph is the diamond graph.

The shape is invariant under a rotation through 180 degrees and under reflections in two perpendicular axes.
