Baumslag-Solitar Group

A Baumslag-Solitar group is a group with group presentation BS(p,q)=<a,t:ta^pt^(-1)=a^q> for nonzero integers p,q (Baumslag and Solitar 1962).

Gaboriau et al. (2026) classified these groups into three measure equivalence classes. The first consists of the amenable cases |p|=1 or |q|=1. The second consists of |p|=|q|>=2, and the third consists of |p|,|q|>=2 with |p|!=|q|. In particular, all groups in the third class are measure equivalent.
