Applied Mathematics


Applied mathematics can be regarded as the use of mathematics combined with specialized field-specific knowledge and tehcniques to solve problems in diverse areas such as engineering, physics, and medicine. Its focus on problem solving, as opposed to mathematics in the abstract, makes it distinct from pure mathematics.
