NKS 2004 Conference in Boston

April 12--An upcoming conference and minicourse devoted to the concepts in Stephen Wolfram's influential and groundbreaking book A New Kind of Science (NKS) will take place this April 22-25 in Boston. NKS 2004 will be the second conference devoted to the development of the ideas published by Wolfram in this popular and much-discussed book (see MathWorld news story, May 14, 2002).

The NKS 2004 conference will showcase recent developments in NKS-related research, including both basic science and applications. NKS 2004 is expected to attract a diverse and dynamic group of participants drawn from academia, industry, government, and elsewhere.

A highlight of the conference will be a one-day intensive series of lectures covering key facets of the basic science and applications of A New Kind of Science, presented by Stephen Wolfram himself.

The conference will take place at The Westin Waltham-Boston. An opening reception the evening of April 22 follows the optional all-day minicourse presented by Dr. Wolfram. Registration for NKS 2004 can be completed online. Since space is limited, potential attendees are encouraged to register soon.

Additional details can be found on the NKS 2004 website.
