Tableau Class

When a Young tableau is constructed using the so-called insertion algorithm, an element starts in some position on the first row, from which it may later be bumped. In contrast, the elements that start out in the ith column are said to belong to the ith class (Skiena 1990, p. 73). Tableau classes may be computed using TableauClasses[p] in the Wolfram Language package Combinatorica` .
