Hedgehog Metric


A metric on a bunch of segments with a common endpoint O, which defines the distance between two points P_1 and P_2 as the length of the shortest path connecting them inside this geometric configuration. If P_1 and P_2 lie on the same segment, this is the length of segment P_1P_2. Otherwise, it is the sum of the lengths of segment P_1O and segment OP_2.
