24

The number 24 is equal to 4! (four factorial).

A number puzzle asks to construct 24 in as many ways possible using elementary mathematical operations on three copies of the same digit. Example solutions include

24=2+<2,2>
(1)
=<2,2^2>
(2)
=<2,2+2>
(3)
=<2,2·2>
(4)
=(3+3/3)!
(5)
=4!+(4-4)
(6)
=4!^(4/4)
(7)
=4!4/4
(8)
=8+8+8,
(9)

where the not necessarily elementary "operation" of digit concatenation has been indicated using the symbol <d_1,d_2>, any solution with 2 can be replaced with the trivial substitution 2=2!, and all occurrences of (n-n) and n/n can be replaced by -(n-n), -(n!-n!), 1/(n/n), n!/n!, etc.
