Ptolemy Inequality

PtolemysInequality

For a quadrilateral which is not cyclic, Ptolemy's theorem becomes an inequality:

 AB×CD+BC×DA>AC×BD.

The Ptolemy inequality is still valid when ABCD is a triangular pyramid (Boomstra 1956-1957).
